Then, she took up Bachelor of Arts with Merit in Comparative Literature at the University of California, Irvine and completed it in 1983. She later graduated in 1988 with a Juris Doctor Degree from Western State University, College of Law, in Fullerton, California. By the year 1989, she got her licence as a lawyer and received her Masters in Arts in English Literature from University of California at Irvine.
